Spiritual warfare is always one of those subjects that gets done to death, and almost always comes off full of fluff and cliche. I'm not going to do that here. I'm going to touch on some heavy stuff that is going to cause real spiritual difficulty for a lot of people. The enemy won't be pulling any of his punches, and as believers we need to man up and face the reality of the war we're in. When it comes to spiritual warfare, many believers have a tendency to talk about it in a purely spiritual or metaphorical sense. However, an in depth look at what spiritual warfare is really about will reveal that it is also a very physical war as well. Angels - spiritual beings that can choose to be good or evil, manifest in human form, and interact with the physical world. In person ...
There is a common misconception by non Bible believers that everyone who believes the Bible are Young Earth Creationists (YEC), but that is not the case. There are many believers that accept that the earth may be much older than the 6,000 - 7,000 years commonly pushed by YEC. Old Earth Creationists (OEC) recognize that there are several inconsistencies in the Genesis account, but those inconsistencies only exist if you adhere to YEC. Here are the inconsistencies we'll cover in this study: Earth and water are already present before God says, "let there be light." The creation account in Genesis 1:2 contradicts God's words in Isaiah 45:18 in the YEC model. Jeremiah describes an event that took place on earth, but mentions that "there was no man". Those that adhere...
Is it possible to talk to the dead? Today I received an interesting comment from a reader named Darryle and he has a few opinions about talking to the dead. He doesn’t believe that it’s possible to talk to the dead and he provided scripture to back up his position. I figured I’d respond publicly so that everyone can benefit from the dialogue. Hi Dante, “We know that God never spoke to Saul again because he never repented. Just like our disobedience today without repentance will prevent the lord from talking to us. That’s the law.” “So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the Word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had familiar spirit, to inquire of it; And inquired not of the lord: ther
CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO THE DEBATE The Serpent Seed Debate is really only a debate if you refuse to acknowledge scripture and accept outside text as on equal standing with the Bible. I don't, and I present my argument for why I don't in the debate. Below you'll find my notes on some of the points I made, and some I didn't make during the debate. “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive…” – Ephesians 4:14 The Bible anticipates all arguments against it, and goes out of its way to make a case against false doctrine before it develops. It’s only when we step outside of the truth of the Bible that CONFUSION creeps its way
Was Cain the son of Adam as stated in scripture, or was he the son of Satan as stated by the Targum of Pseudo Jonathan (False Jonathan)? Serpent Seed or Seedline theory is a growing belief among Christians, but is there any truth to the claims that Adam was not the actual father of Cain? Today’s study was inspired by a question that I received from a reader: “Minister Fortson, Have you or anyone ever noticed that in Gen 4 where it gives the lineage of Cain, that it NEVER says that any of them died, but in contrast, in Gen. 5 where it gives the lineage of Adam/Seth it states EVERY time that they DIED? Can you explain this?” – M. Rivers The Descendants of Cain Let’s start from the beginning of the chapter (Genesis 4:1) because that is where we are going to find the answe
Will we know the mark of the beast (666) when we see it or will it be an invisible mark that can only be seen by supernatural beings and God? Today’s article was inspired by a comment that I received: “The mark of the beast will be invisible to us, only to be seen by the supernatural. The mark in your forehead is your decision, choice, allegiance (active sinner or repentant) and the mark in your hand is your works, how you live your life. (sinning or seeking forgivness) The devil will know who has his mark and Father will know who has his. Ezekiel 20:12. Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them. What are the Sabbaths you may ask ? – Truthy1 What Is The Purpose of The Mark?
Even before I became a Minister, I had issues with people who assumed that Preachers are supposed to act a certain way, based upon public misconception. There seems to be an expectation of perfection when it comes to people who do God’s work, as if the laws of nature no longer apply to us. People tend to forget that we are people too, and we are far from perfect, although many Preachers would like to portray their “perfect” lifestyle. I put “perfect” in quotation marks because its just an act for the most part. Jesus was the only sinless man to walk this earth. We all have a past, and our past is what brings us to the point we are at now. Most people don’t know what a hypocrite truly is, but there are quite a few hypocrites that hold the office of Preacher. Most peop
Have you ever read something that just made you wonder where people come up with this stuff? Well, today’s question is less of a question and more of a statement that I want to respond to because it seems like people are trying to push a politically correct version of God, that is not supported by scripture. What Does Androgynous Mean? As many of you know, its important to have a clear understanding of all the terms we’re going to be using, so I like to go ahead and grab those for you so you don’t have to stop and look them up yourself. Dictionary.com defines androgynous in the following ways: Being both male and female; hermaphroditic. Having both masculine and feminine characteristics. Having an ambiguous sexual identity. Neither clearly masculine
The subject of denominations is somewhat controversial among Christians. Those that do adhere to a specific denomination believe that there is absolutely nothing wrong with them. Those that do not adhere to a denomination believe they are divisive. Is it more about religion or relationship? What is the truth? What if I told you that denominations were expressly forbidden by the Bible? What if I told you that belonging to a denomination placed you in a position against the will of God? What if I told you that Paul put a stop to denominations when they first started to surface during his ministry? These are just a few of the questions that we are going to look at in this study on denominations. Let’s start by defining what a denomination is: Definitions #1: A reli
