The False Prophecy of Pat Robertson

Looks like the election has revealed a lot about a lot of people. Specifically Pat Robertson. During an interview with Benny Hinn, prior to the election, he stated that God told him that Mitt Romney was going to win, but not only that, but Mitt would be elected to a second term.

False Prophets According To Scripture

Once someone says that the Lord told them something and that thing does not happen, that person is indeed a false prophet. Here is what the Bible has to say about false prophets.

“But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.” – Deuteronomy 18:20-22

What are your thoughts on Pat Robertson’s false prophecy? Please feel free to chime in with your comments.

Got Salvation?: Ask for forgiveness of your past sins, believe that Jesus is the son of God, believe that He died and resurrected to save you from your sins, and invite Him into your heart to be your Lord and Savior. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." - Romans 10:13

Maybe this egregious error on the part of Pat Robertson will lead to some soul-searching introspection on his part. Could be that God will use this public humiliation to turn PR from his self-deluded belief that he has some special pipeline to God us lesser Christians lack.

I found it quite sad watching that video. This man was highly regarded (and still is by many) in the Christian community. I felt very uncomfortable hearing him say that The Lord told him so and even more uncomfortable when he would laugh out every time he said The Lord told him – what was the joke? Did he not take seriously what “The Lord” supposedly told him? What was so funny?

But what I found the most disturbing was that he actually was giving Benny Hinn the time of day! Benny Hinn?! That confirms it for me – Birds of a Feather right there and it all adds up to what you say Dante…

People need to make sure they are listening to Jesus and not a familiar spirit. The True Spirit is never wrong!
