Race Relations In The Bible: Noah & Sons – Part 2

Race Relations In The Bible: Noah & Sons – Part 2

Race In The Bible
What race was Noah? Did all races really come from Shem, Ham, and Japheth? What was the curse of Ham all about? These are just some of the questions we are going to attempt to answer in this study. If God really flooded the earth, how is it possible that all races currently on earth came from one man? As if the story of Noah wasn’t already unbelievable, but we are also expected to accept that all of the races currently on earth are directly related to Noah. Let’s start with the most logical question: How Many People Made It Onto The Ark? According to scripture, only Noah and his wife, Shem and his wife, Ham and his wife, and Japheth and his wife made it onto the ark. That’s 8 people total. This is also confirmed elsewhere in the Bible: “Which sometime were disobed

Race In The Bible
Was everyone in the Bible white? Could Jesus have been black? Who was the Queen of Sheba? Was interracial marriage forbidden? These are some of the questions that we’ve been debating on Facebook lately, and it prompted me to really dig into the subject. Introduction To The Series This series is going to be an intense and scriptural look into race relations in the Bible. It’s not about saying any specific person is any specific race, but a good, honest look into the subject. Far too often people like to avoid the issue of race in scripture because it challenges preconceived notions and long held beliefs that may not be true. Discussion and Debate Are Encouraged Links To Other Resources Are Encouraged Enjoy The Study At the end of each part in the series, you’ll
Goddesses: Female Angels, Female Nephilim, or Demonic Spirits?

Goddesses: Female Angels, Female Nephilim, or Demonic Spirits?

Angels & Demons
How do we jump to the conclusion that all angels are male, based on only 4 names in the Bible? Then there’s the mention of two female beings in Zechariah, which also seem to be angels, but many Christians absolutely refuse to acknowledge that God might actually have created female angels. The reason that the issue is avoided or denied is because angels don’t marry in heaven, and they would have to explain the need for both genders of angels. Then of course, they have to make speculation about sex, and it wouldn’t fit with the traditions of men. So it’s simply avoided in most cases. However, I’ve always been curious about the mention of female angels, demons, goddesses, and other supernatural female entities. The reason for this fascination was because I always heard,
Adultery and Divorce According To The Bible

Adultery and Divorce According To The Bible

Sex & Sexuality
Q: “After reading the “shacking up” article I still have a question. I’m currently divorced, I’m dating somebody who is working on the legal aspects of a divorce but has been emotionally divorced for a few years now (i.e. they two have not lived together or had any marriage like contact in years). Avoiding the mess & stress of explaining her dilemma I’ll jump straight to the point. What are the rules of two divorced people starting a relationship (physical and emotional) and possible marriage. Where can more info on this subject be found?” A: First let me start by saying thanks for reading and taking the time to ask. The subject of adultery is a big deal now days because our societies moral standards have taken a nose dive. Lets look at your situation from a Bi
Sexual Situations According To The Bible

Sexual Situations According To The Bible

Sex & Sexuality
Believe it or not this subject comes up a lot, especially in Bible study at my church. I also get tons of emails about sexual relationships. People everywhere want to know what the Bible says about sex. I’ve previously covered several sexual topics according to the Bible: Fornication vs. Sex Before Marriage Adultery and Divorce According To The Bible The Truth About Shacking Up My views on relationships are not always popular, but I do use the Bible to present them. I’ve gotten plenty of emails from people giving me all kinds of reasons why I’m wrong, but for every 10 emails I get, only 1 or 2 actually contain Bible verses in support of what they believe. I find that most of the people I get messages from base their arguments on tradition and not the Bible. So let

Shacking Up and The Bible: Living Together Before Marriage

Disclaimer: This is just the first post in a long series of posts on the subject. This is by no means a definitive statement as I’m always doing research and simply share my thoughts as I do so. This series of posts should be read as if I am simply BRAINSTORMING through written word. This post is where I started my research. If you hang around church long enough, you’ll hear older folks talk about “shacking up” but what does it really mean? From what I’ve gathered through debating this issue with older people (preachers included), is that it refers to a man and woman living together. I would also throw in the assumption that people of the opposite sex who live together must be having sex, and that’s considered “shacking up.” While it may not even be true that sex is goin

Division In The Church: Are Christian Denominations Against The Bible?

Bible Q&A
The subject of denominations is somewhat controversial among Christians. Those that do adhere to a specific denomination believe that there is absolutely nothing wrong with them. Those that do not adhere to a denomination believe they are divisive. Is it more about religion or relationship? What is the truth? What if I told you that denominations were expressly forbidden by the Bible? What if I told you that belonging to a denomination placed you in a position against the will of God? What if I told you that Paul put a stop to denominations when they first started to surface during his ministry? These are just a few of the questions that we are going to look at in this study on denominations. Let’s start by defining what a denomination is: Definitions #1: A reli
